Temple of Apollo - Ortigia Cozy Apartment

Characteristic 80 sqm apartment with mezzanine, which can accommodate up to 4 people, located on the 1st floor of a period building without lift (20 steps to access the apartment). The property is located in the heart of the island of Ortigia, a few steps from the Temple of Apollo, in the heart of the historic center of Syracuse (Traffic-Restricted Area).
The apartment has a living area with kitchenette, a bedroom, another bedroom on the mezzanine, two bathrooms and two small balconies.

The inside is organized as follows:
- LIVING AREA with KITCHENETTE (gas hob with 4 burners, fridge with freezer, oven, microwave, moka, kettle and kitchenware), dining table, wardrobe, sofa, smart TV (with external keyboard - no cable channels) and small balcony;
- SERVICE BATHROOM with sink and toilet;
- BEDROOM with double bed (1.60m x 1.90m), AC split, chest of drawers and small balcony;
- INTERNAL BATHROOM with shower (raised), sink, bidet and WC;
- MEZZANINE (15 steps to access to it) with double bed (1.40m x 1.90m).

FURTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE TO GUESTS: unlimited wifi, A/C (splits in the bedroom and in the living area), fans (the house is very cool in summer due to the very thick walls and the high roofs), washing machine (in the bathroom), hairdryer and clothes hanger.
Towels and bed linen included (with optional changes for a fee).
Baby cot and high chair available on request.

PLEASE NOTE: the apartment is NOT suitable for very young children due to the presence of the internal stairs to reach the mezzanine. In addition, there are two steps in the bathroom inside the bedroom.

PLEASE NOTE: the music of the store under the house could cause noise.

The apartment is for the exclusive use of our guests and won't be shared with the host or other tenants.

To ensure the security of your personal data, 7 days before your arrival you will receive instructions to register your documents via our Guest Portal and to pay the tourist tax (4% of the cost of the stay up to a maximum of €5.00 per person per night of stay, up to a maximum of 7 nights).

Switching on and off air conditioning and heating is subject to compliance with current Italian legislation (DPR 16/04/2013 n.74, DM 6/10/2022 n.383).
Summer: the average air temperature must not get below 26°C (78,8 °F) for all kinds of buildings.
Winter: the weighted average of the air temperatures must not exceed 19°C (66,2 °F). Time and period of operation depend on the climatic zone defined by the standard.
Syracuse Climatic Zone B: 7 hours a day from December 8th to March 23rd.

Check-in will take place in online self check-in mode, completing registration is MANDATORY in order to receive instructions on how to collect the keys and access the apartment.
Keys can be collected free of charge via on-site keybox.
In case of problems, telephone assistance will be guaranteed until 10pm.

If you wish to receive the keys from a member of our staff in the apartment, it is possible, upon request with payment of a supplement equal to:
- From 15:00 to 21:00: EUR 15.00;
- From 21:00 to 23:00: EUR 25.00.

The apartment is locted in Ortigia, a few steps from the Temple of Apollo, one of the most important monuments of Ortigia and the first to have been built in Syracuse. Dated to the beginning of the 6th century BC, it is the oldest Doric temple in Sicily. Walking through the streets of the island, it is possible to admire centuries of history, splendid palaces, lively trattorias and cafes, as well as other monuments such as the Castle of Maniace, the Fonte Aretusa and the Piazza del Duomo.
In two minutes on foot it is possible to reach the market (held every day, except on Sunday), a typical market full of local products and street food, where it is possible to shop and to eat local delicacies.
In the area it is possible to find many other services such as a bank,a post office, a minimarket, restaurants, bars, shops and much more.

- Temple of Apollo: 1 minute on foot;
- Piazza Duomo: 6 minutes on foot;
- Fonte Aretusa: 10 minutes on foot;
- Cala Rossa beach: 10 minutes on foot;
- Castle of Maniace: 14 minutes on foot.

- Apollonion - Osteria da Carlo (fish restaurant): 1 minute on foot;
- Viola Espresso Bar: 2 minutes on foot;
- Market: 2 minutes on foot;
- Crai (supermarket): 3 minutes on foot.

Near the apartment, it is possible to find "Talete" electric minibus stop (one run every 30 minutes, from 8:00 to 20:00, one-way price of 1 euro) which will allow you to comfortably reach some of the main points of interest in the city:
- The Sanctuary of the Madonnina delle Lacrime;
- The Paolo Orsi museum;
- The Archaeological Park of Neapolis;
- The Fonte Aretusa;
- The Castle of Maniace;
- The bus and train station.

The main towns of Sicily can be reached by Interbus coaches from the central station (via Rubino), where the shuttles to Catania-Fontanarossa airport also depart (approximately 1 hour journey).

- FROM CATANIA AIRPORT: it is possible to reach the apartment by taking the ALIBUS bus service that connects Catania airport to Catania Central Station, where it is possible to take the regional train to Syracuse station, less than 20 minutes on foot from the property.
Alternatively, it is possible to reach the apartment from the airport by taking Interbus bus, up to Syracuse Station.

- FROM SYRACUSE STATION: it is possible to reach the apartment on foot in less than 20 minutes or by taking the minibus.

- IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY CAR: The nearest car park is 350m away from the apartment and is called “Talete”. It’s open 24/7, with convenient fares. Alternatively, it is possible to park for free a few steps from the property (NOT guaranteed and NOT bookable).
